And promoting to the leading female’s league is Adria Tham. Her case was a little different. Why? Because she had nearly failed to register for TCP Season’s 2 audition! When she found out about the show, it was already way past the deadline. She tried her luck by emailing the producer, hoping for an exemption to enter the auditions. Luck was on her side and thus she got an exemption to enter the auditions. Entering the auditions room, she wowed the judges with her natural acting skills as well as her singing. She then clinched the second position and immediately got the role of Xie Shu Yi for The Changing Point Season 2. Her promotion then came with her clinching the Best Newcomer at our second awards ceremony last August. With her increasing popularity amongst our viewers, she was given the meaty role of Tao Pei Yu in The Pinnacle, acting alongside our Ah Ge; Brian Ng. she loves acting. And we can see that our Best Newcomer has what it takes to climb up to the top of The Pinnacle.

Q: How would you all feel about your “promotion” to becoming leads of The Pinnacle?

To Kenneth, he does not feel much. Initially, he was worried that his role was too big that it may affect his schedule. For your information, our male lead is currently serving the nation. And to challenge his tight schedule is something the production crew must work on. He replied the same “我没有去想那么多”, with a smile on his face.

“Of course happy lah!” Quips the sunshine girl who turned 17 this year. When asked about which role she think she performed better, she replied “I guess it would be my role as Tao PeiYu in The Pinnacle, because she has chances to act with more characters in the show. My role in TCP was only with Sean, thus I didn’t have a chance to act with the others. And seriously, I think I did very badly for ShuYi’s role in TCP.”

Q: What if there was a season two for The Pinnacle and if the producer decides to “demote” you both to supporting roles from your current leading roles?

Both kept quiet for awhile before giving the same response. “Of course we’ll be sad.” But Kenneth added on “不要去想那么多就可以了.” Our leading actor is definitely optimistic.

Adria on the other hand, kept rather silent and we guessed it was probably because she didn’t know how and what to answer. Below are some of the explanations from the producer why some of the leads may change when there is a new season.


Producer:
Kenneth was chosen as the first male lead because we wanted a guy who was tall and could give a sense of security. Kenneth was our first choice because we wanted to see how we could stretch his acting capabilities. But he definitely hit all our expectations and is coping very well with handling the show. I am happy to see viewers starting to take notice of him because he is really a hardworking actor. I can tell you that because i've seen him practising his lines even whilst driving, and has never really been late for any filmings before. Most importantly, we see him improving, at a very fast pace.

Adria was chosen as the second female lead because we wanted a girl who could fit the criteria of a jovial role. She was naturally our first choice and we are very happy to see her being able to showcase her acting. She has natural chemistry with Brian and that's what is most important. She's likes to highlight her lines on her scripts and constantly reads them! She's a very natural actress to begin with.

What friends says about them?

To me, I feel that my friendship with Kenneth came a long way because we're both people of little words but I still manage to like him as a friend. He's those type who will sit quietly at one side but remembers little details; quite a sweet guy I'd say.

As for Adria, I think she's really cute and outgoing. She is one who is not afraid of new experiences and she's always smiling happily. I don't think I've ever seen her sad or angry before. She is also serious about her own acting since she'll blame herself whenever she thinks that she didn't do well for her scene so it's a good attitude she has there.
